FOTP DerawanDownload Project Profile
The FOTP Derawan transshipping platform is used to transship coal from barges to large ocean going vessels off the coast of Indonesia, in the Sulawesi Sea. The coal originates from the Berau mines and is exported worldwide. There are approximately 5 million tons of coal transshipped per year.
The system incorporates two 35 ton Tsuji cranes, a dual receiving hopper, belt feeder, bucket elevator and a telescopic boom. The transshipping boom features a rotating trimming spout to trim the cargo loaded, as well as a tramp iron removal system and two stage cargo sampling systems.
The transshipper is extremely isolated, is it is approximately 10 nautical miles off the northeast coast of Kalimantan, and as such an extremely robust and long lasting design was required.
